Airbnb listings include reviews, in-platform messaging and cancellation terms, but there are several other places to look. Flytographer specializes in vacation shoots in more than 350 destinations, while Localgrapher covers hundreds of cities and vacation areas. Both allow customers to compare portfolios before choosing a photographer.
You can also ask your hotel or the local tourism office for recommendations. Many independent photographers accept bookings through their professional websites, although direct bookings require closer attention to payment terms, cancellations, and what the final package includes.

Vacation photography now covers a wide range of prices. As of July 2026, one Bali photographer charged $67 per group for a one-hour solo session with 30 edited photos. When comparing photographers, spend more time studying their portraits. The portfolio should include solo clients who appear relaxed, a range of well-photographed skin tones, and an editing style that matches the images you want.
