Celebrity couple Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good are now proud official citizens of Guinea, located on the coast of West Africa.

According to BBC Africa, the couple obtained their Guinean citizenship earlier this month, nearly a year after they tied the knot in March 2025. The married actors reportedly pursued Guinean citizenship after learning of their individual ancestry in the country. Djiba Diakité, minister and chief of staff to Guinea’s presidency, reportedly provided the duo’s new passports and spoke at the private citizenship ceremony.

“We think that you are among the worthy sons and daughters of this Guinea,” said Diakité to the couple. “You represent our country, the red-yellow-green flag all over the world.”

In a statement the Good and Majors shared via email, they reportedly said, “We could absolutely see ourselves having a home here and spending meaningful time in Guinea.”

“This is not a fleeting connection — it’s something we see as long-term and evolving,” they added.

On January 11, Good posted on Instagram about the personal importance and meaningfulness of she and her husband becoming Guinean citizens and ambassadors of the West African nation. Notably, the Branding National de Guinée, the country’s national branding authority, appointed Majors, 36, and Good, 44, as “Global Cultural Ambassadors.” Sharing about the latter role, Good said, “Our mission is to build bridges, amplify Guinean culture, and unite our global family. We already look forward to our next trips in Guinea.”

“This recognition goes beyond titles. Known as the rebels of Africa, Guinea has always chosen dignity, identity, and freedom. That same spirit lives across the diaspora, and this connection is intentional and ancestral.”

“Nous sommes fiers de notre héritage Guinéen!” she added at the end of her post, translating to “We are proud of our Guinean heritage!”

The Branding National de Guinée shared a compilation of footage documenting Good and Majors’ time in and around Conakry, Guinea’s capital. The couple spent time seeing local tourist sites and experiencing Guinean culture. See it on the authority’s official Instagram page.
